ABOUT
THE LEARNING INSTITUTE CRUISE
Inspired by the work of the late David Mallery, our week-long experience brings together people who are “in education” in many different ways.
Learning Institute attendees may be working with three-year olds, senior citizens, or any ages between. They may be subject-matter specialists or generalists, from public, private, or independent institutions. They may be from innovative or traditional places, and may be at many different stages of their own careers and explorations.
This multi-day experience will bring Black educators together to root themselves in research and affinity based reflection in order to understand how they can lead from a place that leverages multiple parts of their identity.
THE DATES AND LOCATIONS
The LEADright Learning Institute leaves from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and docks in two ports: Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. The cruise ship departs Fort Lauderdale at 4pm on Monday, July 10, 2017, and returns to Fort Lauderdale at 8am on Saturday, July 15, 2017.
THE COSTS
When compared to land-based conferences in the United States of America, The LEADright Learning Institute offers an affordable, educational experience for you and a fun-filled experience for you and your family. The Learning Institute has a fee for your participation in the Learning Institute and conference materials (Registration Fee) and Learning Institute has a fee for your room and meals (Cruise Fee). Recognizing that summer is a time for many to spend with family, The LEADright Learning Institute offers an exceptional educational experience for you and a fun-filled experience for you and your family.
NOTE: Please consult your tax adviser or accountant for specific information about non-reimbursed professional development, learning, and education expenses and the extent to which the costs associated with attending The LEADright Institutes may be tax deductible for you. Several IRS Publications may be helpful as you converse with your tax adviser.
