ONLINE CHECK-IN: You must enter your full legal name in 'Online Check-In' as it appears on your travel documentation. The 'Online Check-In' system will pre-populate the following fields based on the information in your reservation; if this information needs to be changed, please alert us as soon as possible: Title, First name, Last name, Gender. For more information, go to: https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3421 If you are having problems call TONY at 336-558-7808 and he'll help you out.
IDENTIFICATION: Carnival requires you to have proper travel documentation in order to travel. You may use your passport or you may use your license/identification card AND your birth certificate. If you need to obtain a passport quickly, Carnival recommends that you contact Visa Central at www.visacentral.com/carnival or by phone: 1-866-788-1100. Callers should mention that they are sailing on Carnival to receive discounted service fees. The following birth certificates are acceptable:
- An original or copy of a birth certificate issued by a government agency (state/county/city) or the Department of Health and Vital Statistics
- A clear, legible copy of a birth certificate that was originally issued by a government agency (state/county/city) or the Department of Health and Vital Statistics. The copy does not need to be notarized or certified.
PRE/POST CRUISE HOTEL: We will arrive in Fort Lauderdale on July 9, 2017, the day before the cruise departs. Our pre-cruise hotel is Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six. The hotel is located at 2301 SE 17th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316. It is 1.37 miles from the cruise port. The hotel offers a shuttle service from the hotel to the cruise port. It costs $7 per person and it leaves every half hour starting at 9am.
BOARDING THE SHIP: Those who meet TONY at the Carnival Cruise Port entrance by 11:45am may enter with him through an expedited process. You will need to have your passport, boarding pass/cruise ticket printed and ready to show to the Carnival agents. Otherwise, you will need to schedule a boarding/check-in time.
CRUISE INSURANCE: It is strongly recommended that you have some form of travel insurance. Insurance will protect you from an unforeseen emergency, port of call, and event cancellation throughout your entire trip. Carnival sell insurance. Sometimes I purchase it and sometimes I don’t. No matter what, however, I purchase a policy through World Nomads. At $102-$144 for two people (depending on activities done while cruising), it’s a bargain. The main reason i purchase it is for this benefit: $300,000 to $500,000 in “Emergency Evacuation and Repatriation coverage. The coverage is for an accidental injury or sickness occurring during the trip that results in your necessary emergency evacuation.” For more information, go to: www.worldnomads.com
WHAT TO PACK AND WEAR: Wear comfortable clothing during the day. The ship is air conditioned, so a light sweater is also recommended, especially if you get cold easily. There is one formal wear night (yes, that means formal wear such as tuxedos, dresses, suits and such). Of course it is optional; however, we hope that you will participate. For more information, go to: https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3828
RESERVING SHORE EXCURSIONS: If you like snorkeling, horseback riding, and other fun activities you can sign up for great a great shore excursion of your choice when you complete online checkin.
DEPARTURE: The cruise ship departs Fort Lauderdale at 4pm on Monday, July 10, 2017.
PORT ADDRESS DIRECTIONS: Port Everglades, 1850 Eller Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316-4201 http://www.porteverglades.net
ENTERING THE PORT: To enter Port Everglades, you must present a cruise ticket along with a government issued photo I.D; you must also be able to state the name of the cruise line (Carnival) and the name of the cruise ship (Conquest) your will be boarding.
